Angelo S. Esposito was appointed senior vice president of energy services and technology at the New York Power Authority (NYPA) in August 2004. He is responsible for implementation of all energy services and technology programs, and electric transportation initiatives for NYPA’s customers including those provided for government entities throughout New York State.
NYPA invests over $100 million annually in state-of-the-art energy efficiency services and technology programs, which are direct-install and turn-key, with financing provided so no up-front capital is necessary from the participants. Esposito has supervised over 2,600 projects throughout New York State that produced over $900 million in overall customer savings.
In addition, Esposito is responsible for NYPA’s electric transportation, and research and technology development activities. This encompasses a broad range of electric drive vehicles and other clean transportation technologies; energy utilization, and advanced mechanical and electrical technologies, such as distributed generation.
Esposito joined the Power Authority staff in February 1981 as an economist responsible for NYPA’s Load Research program activities. He was promoted to manager, energy efficiency in 1990 and became director, energy services in 1997 until assuming his current position. Prior to joining the Power Authority, Esposito was with the Consolidated Edison Company of New York in the rate engineering department.
Esposito holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bernard M. Baruch College and did graduate work at Pace University. He resides in Carmel with his wife, Linda. They have two sons, Michael and Andrew.
