WELCOME FROM THE MAYOR
Dear Business Professional:
On behalf of our many business partners and the entire City of Yonkers, I am pleased to announce our tenth annual Yonkers Business Week event which will take place from May 4th to May 8th. This year's forum, Yonkers Business Week 2009 -- "Yonkers Means Business" --- is the New York metropolitan area's only week-long opportunity specifically designed to help business professionals like yourself maintain, strengthen and grow their businesses.
For the past five years, it has been my privilege to serve the people of the great City of Yonkers as the Mayor. Over the past year our city along with the entire country has been facing tough economic times. Now more than ever it is important that we continue to be committed to continue our City's economic growth. We must continue our vision for our great City and move forward on proposed development and redevelopment to further ensure our growth and prosperity.
Growing local business is important and Yonkers will continue to provide the tools that business needs. Doing business in Yonkers adds to the overall health of our City and helps the engine of our local economy to move forward. Please know that my administration remains 100% committed to continue our City's economic growth. In the City of Yonkers we appreciate local businesses!
Yonkers Business Week 2009 will have a number of special events; please be sure to register early as space is often limited. If your schedule permits on Thursday, May 7th please plan on attending our Annual Business Week Awards Dinner where some of our outstanding business leaders will be recognized.
I am looking forward to seeing you at many "Yonkers Means Business" Yonkers Business Week 2009 events.
Philip A. Amicone
Mayor
