Susanne Madden is founder and CEO of The Verden Group, a consulting firm created as a response to the overwhelming complexity and volume of change in managed care confronting practices today.
Her career has spanned across several sections of the healthcare industry. Prior to founding Verden, she was employed by UnitedHealthcare in the area of physician network management and spent several years as an independent healthcare consultant specializing in business development, revenue cycle remediation, vendor management and process improvement. Formerly a practice administrator and billing manager, she understands the many different challenges facing practices today.
With an MBA in both Management Systems and Information & Communication Systems, she has applied her formal learning to understanding the principles of knowledge management and how information can be transformed into comprehension with the right facilitation. The Verden Group is the culmination of that knowledge, and seeks to inform, transform and reform the business of managed care today.
In addition to providing contract negotiation and consulting services, the Verden Group monitors 170 managed care companies nationally and notifies subscribers to the unique Verden Alert™ system about policy and procedure changes affecting physician contracts, specific to their specialties.
Susanne writes frequently and speaks regularly on all aspects of managed care and is frequently quoted in industry publications such as Physician’s Practice, Medical Economics and Managed Healthcare 360°.

Angelo Martinelli is Chairman of the Board of Gazette Press Inc., a business he purchased in 1948. He is also Chairman of the Board of four magazines: Delaware Today, Mainline Today, Hudson Valley and Westchester Magazine. He is also Chairman of the Board of Suburban Marketing Corp, the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce, and the Yonkers PAL.
Mr. Martinelli sits on the Board of Hudson Valley Bank, Hudson Valley Holding Corp. and Hudson Valley Investment Corp.
Mr. Martinelli served six terms as Mayor of the City of Yonkers. During this time he developed an enviable record of attracting new businesses to the City of Yonkers. These included Saks Fifth Avenue, Loral Electronics, Kawasaki Rail Car Industry, Robert Martin, Caldor’s and Alexander’s Department Stores.
As Chairman of the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Martinelli continues to display leadership in promoting the City of Yonkers and encouraging new development and new businesses in our city.
During his career, Mr. Martinelli has been involved in a number of charitable and professional organizations including: President, Police Athletic League of Yonkers; President, Women’s Institute of Yonkers; President, Queens’ Daughters Day Nursery; Board Member, St. Joseph’s Medical Center; Board Member, Westchester’s Visitor’s and Convention Bureau; Member of Knights of Columbus and the Order of the Knights of Malta; Chairman, St. Patrick’s Home Advisory Board; Chairman, Yonkers Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Martinelli has received numerous awards. The following is but a partial listing: “Man of the Year,” Jewish Community Center of Yonkers; the first “Friends of Education” award, Yonkers Federation of Teachers; Public Service Award, Municipal Housing Center Tenants Council; “Man of the Year,” B’nai B’rith Organization; Loyalty Day Award, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Citizenship Award, National Afro-American Labor Council of Westchester; Public Service Award, Puerto Rican Community Council, Spanish Community Progress Foundation and “Father of the year” for the American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Martinelli attended Syracuse and Rutgers Universities. He was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by Mercy College in 1984.
He served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946.
Mr. Martinelli and his wife Carol have been married for 59 years and reside in Yonkers. They have six sons, eleven grandchildren and one great grandson.
David D. Meade

David Meade is a Business Economic Development Project Manager with Anchin Block & Anchin’s Business Economic Development Services Group. In this capacity, he assists clients with the complex certification and application process for various state, county and local tax incentive programs. Along with other team members, he provides frequent training sessions on incentive programs to lending institutions, Chambers of Commerce, and other community-based economic development organizations.
Before joining Anchin, David managed a variety of complex discretionary and non-discretionary government incentive programs. His economic development project and urban planning analysis has been directly responsible for the creation of hundreds of new jobs and significant investment to a variety of urban revitalization industrial projects. David presented and trained Empire Zone Administrative Boards, which are comprised of key financial and civic stakeholders within communities, on the various tax incentives and administrative responsibilities of the program. His training areas included Western New York, the Southern Tier, Central New York, the North Country, and the Capital Region. David possesses a wide range of expertise in statewide energy cost-savings programs in New York State and the Tri-State region.
David is currently studying to become a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).

Nancy Woodruff Ment

Nancy Woodruff Ment is President and CEO for Andrus Children’s Center. As Chief Executive, she was instrumental in reshaping the organization’s profile through two key mergers: the merger of Andrus with the Center for Preventive Psychiatry (CPP) and Family and Community Services (FCS).
Ms. Ment began her career at Andrus in 1987 as Director of Clinical Services and her career has encompassed numerous operations and executive positions. Before coming to Andrus, she was a psychotherapist in private practice, an early childhood consultant, and a senior psychiatric social worker at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center.
Ms. Ment earned a Bachelor or Arts degree from Goucher College, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Hunter College School of Social Work. She also holds post-graduate certificates from the Jewish Board of Guardians in Psychotherapy for Children and Executive Leadership from the Not-for-Profit Institute of Columbia University’s Business School.
Besides her post-graduate certificates, Ms. Ment serves on the Board of the Yonkers Community Planning Council, is a former President of the American Association of Children’s Residential Centers and is active with the Alliance for Children and Families.
William M. Mooney, Jr.

For more than 45 years, William M. Mooney, Jr. has been a prominent force in the metropolitan region’s business and banking community. Mr. Mooney currently serves as President of The Westchester County Association, the county’s premier business membership organization. Most recently Mr. Mooney was named Chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators Compensation Advisory Board.
Mr. Mooney was elected to head The Westchester County Association in 2004. Mr. Mooney has had a long and distinguished career in the banking industry, most recently at Independence Community Bank where he was responsible for all business activities in Westchester County and Connecticut. Prior to that, he held the position of Executive Vice President of Union State Bank, where he managed retail banking activities and business development. Earlier in his career Mr. Mooney worked for Chase Manhattan Bank and Chemical Bank with responsibility for all retail and small business activities in the New York Metropolitan area.
Mr. Mooney began his banking career with Citibank and at the age of 19 received the “Most Creative and Best Idea Award” in the corporation which led to a Citibank Academic Foundation Award to attend college. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY.
Beyond his many skills as a business leader, Mr. Mooney is deeply committed to giving back to the community. His philanthropic efforts extend to many not-for-profit and educational organizations. He has been chairman of the board of the United Way of Westchester and Putnam Counties, St. Thomas Aquinas College, The Westchester County Association, American Heart Walk, Westchester Partnership for Economic Development, CYO Rockland County, Red Cross Rockland County and Rockland Center for the Arts.
Mr. Mooney has been honored with numerous civic and leadership awards, including the CYO Outstanding Citizen Award, Monsey Jewish Center Award, 52 Association Outstanding Citizen Award, Graymoor Award, Mary Walsh Dominican Sisters Award, YMCA Outstanding Citizen Award, St. Agnes – Children Rehabilitation Center, St. Thomas Aquinas College President’s Award, United Way Distinguished Citizen Award, Cystic Fibrosis Charles J. Mr. Mooney has a degree in accounting from Manhattan College and received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and an Honorary Doctor of Commercial Science from St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY. He resides with his wife, Joan, in White Plains, NY.
